Moving. . .

Gotcha! We're not moving! It seems that everyone and their dog is moving right now. I know of about three good friends from our ward that are moving (you know who you are). I have to admit. . . Josh and I were seriously thinking about moving. But have decided instead to stay another 6 months to a year.

But we need to do something to make our home more tolerable. After two years of living in the "country" Josh and I discovered that Green Acres is not the place to be, as it were. Darling we love you, but give us an Avenue.

Since Josh is starting a new job we decided it's not the best time to move. Hopefully next year we'll feel differently. So in order to make our home better we've decided to redo the living room floor and possibly the kitchen. We plan on puting in a snap-together wood floor in the livingroom and hallway. After 2 years of dogs who are still have potty-training "accidents" (which they always "accidentally" make when we are convienently not home, although they have newspaper to use in the kitchen) we thought it would be good to get rid of the carpet and get something easier to clean.

We also picked out some nice tile for the kitchen, which was inexpensive, but now we're wondering if we want it. Tile in the kitchen would be great, but are we opening in a can of worms? I'm pretty sure you're supposed to tile under the appliances (oven, fridge, and dish washer) but how do you do that when the dishwasher fits perfectly under the counter, on a laminate floor? Will we have to raise the counter? Should we just block the dishwasher in? That sounds tacky. What if you needed to replace it? Would we have to tear up a tile floor? Does anyone know the answer?

At any rate, getting new flooring will increase our home's re-sell value and make our lives easier. Josh is going to try to lay the wood floor himself sometime soon. We still have to measure. If we don't end up doing the kitchen in tile maybe we'll do our bedroom in wood flooring. We're pretty excited. We may even paint our bedroom, but let's not get go crazy! Everyone and their dog may be moving, but Josh, me and our dogs are "stay"-ing for now. Get it "Stay"-ing. Pun fully intended.
